Approval of Marketing Material

Marketing materials and press releases are a great tool for public awareness. Clarity regarding the relationship between your Affiliate and Community Foundation is critical in marketing and press releases, and Community Foundation is here to help you accurately describe that relationship to the public. Please submit all marketing material for Community Foundation staff to review at least one month before print. Press releases require only a two-week lead time. All Affiliate marketing material will be returned in a timely manner. Below are a few samples.


Use of Community Foundation Logo

Name
Use ‘the’ before “Quad Cities Community Foundation” with a lower case‘t’
Example: the Quad Cities Community Foundation

Use “Community Foundation” only after a reference to the full name has been used.

Example: The Teens for Tomorrow program through the Quad Cities Community Foundation is distributing $10,000 in grants to area nonprofits. The Community Foundation is transforming our region through the generosity of our donors.

Use “Community Foundation” in informal documents once the full name of the Quad Cities Community Foundation has been used.

Example: The Quad Cities Community Foundation is offering the public an opportunity to exploring their plan for disaster. Contact the Community Foundation if you are interested in this free workshop.

Logo
The primary colors for the Quad Cities Community Foundation’s logo is melanie midnight blue, action orange, and vibrant blue. The secondary options of black or white can be used on any background that does not allow enough contrast for the positive logo. This background must be a solid color (never patterned), and be dark enough that the logo is easy to read. The logo is a solid color and should never be altered or substituted in any way. 

Minimum Size
Never reproduce the Community Foundation logo any smaller than 1 inch by 1 inch.

Official Artwork and Approval
To ensure the best quality, use only the official Community Foundation logo digital artwork. It is available in various formats (eps, jpg, gif, ets.) and in all color versions. Email affiliates@QCCommunityFoundation.org to receive the logo.


Use of Affiliate Logos

Name
Affiliates will always use their name in combination with the Quad Cities Community Foundation as follows: XYZ Foundation, a component fund of the Quad Cities Community Foundation.

Affiliates may use their name (or abbreviation) only after a reference to the full name has been used.

Example: Community Foundation of Cedar County, a component fund of the Quad Cities Community Foundation is distributing $10,000 in grants to area non-profits. The Community Foundation of Cedar County is in their third year of impacting their region.

Logo
Each Affiliate logo is unique, but all contain the phrase, 'a component fund of the Quad Cities Community Foundation.' The color logo is the primary logo for each Affiliate. The secondary options of black or white can be used on any background that does not allow enough contrast for the positive logo. This background must be a solid color (never patterned), and dark enough that the logo is easy to read. The logo should never be altered or substituted in any way.

Password Requirements

You will be required to change your password every 90 days. The password must be 8 characters long and contain characters from three of the following four categories:

English uppercase characters (A through Z)

English lowercase characters (a through z)

Base 10 digits (0 through 9)

Non-alphabetic characters (for example, !, $, #, %)

Contact Cory at CorySellers@QCCommunityFoundation.org or 563-326-2840 to reset your password if necessary. Sometimes it is difficult to update the password on the remote email website. Cory is happy to change the password for you on the server. 

Access Email Online via Computer or Other Device

Go to https://remote.qccommunityfoundation.org/owa and log in using the User Name and Password provided. This website will give you access to email and calendar.

The Options menu can be found in the upper right-hand side of the page. From here you can adjust your signature and create automated replies. Please keep in mind that the email website will look slightly different depending on what internet browser you are using. Internet Explorer is recommended since the Exchange email is a Microsoft product. It also works well with Chrome.

Set up on Smartphone or Tablet

Every device is slightly different. Although these instructions may not completely match up with your device’s requirements, it should give you the basic information you need. Our Exchange server requires a password on your device. You may be required to create one if you do not have one already. Please contact us if you need further assistance.

Apple: Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>Exchange

Enter in your email and password as provided. Select next. You may receive an error message. On the next screen, enter the User Name and Password. Enter in the Server as remote.qccommunityfoundation.org. Select Next. Choose what you want to have available on your phone: Email, Contacts, Calendar and Reminders.

Android: Settings>General>Accounts>Microsoft Exchange

Enter in your email and password as provided. On the next page, enter in the Domain\UserName as qccommunityfoundation.local\your username. The Exchange Server is remote.qccommunityfoundation.org. Use Secure Connection (SSL) should be checked. Select Next. Select the sync schedule and what you would like set up: Email, Contacts, Calendar and Task. Select Next. You may get warnings while setting up this account about administrative control or rights. This is part of Exchange and you will need to accept the warnings.
