Tameka processes accounts payable and works closely with the grantmaking team to process grants and scholarship payments. She also maintains cash flow records to ensure proper funds are available for grants and other costs of operations. She provides support and assistance to the vice president of Finance and other staff as needed. Tameka earned her Accounting Specialist Associate’s degree from Black Hawk College and is graduating from St. Ambrose University with her BA in Accounting in May 2019. She joins the Community Foundation with 10 years of bookkeeping experience, with an emphasis on accounts payable and administrative experience. In previous roles, she worked for UnityPoint Health and Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 25. Tameka is a passionate mentor to young ladies in high school. As a volunteer for Quad Cities Women in Action, she educates teenage women to help them make better life choices and teaches them about love of self. She also is a proud parent of a Pearlette (her eldest daughter is a member), a youth group of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. The organization promotes building self-esteem, positive body image, and leadership skills. Born on the South Side of Chicago and raised in Rock Island, Illinois, Tameka lives in Moline with her daughters, Myah and TaLiyah. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling.
