Regional Momentum Building Event Talking Points

The Quad Cities Community Foundation and Downtown Davenport Partnership, in collaboration with regional partners, are hosting a two-day, bi-state working session and momentum-building event focused on accelerating progress toward reducing unsheltered homelessness in the Quad Cities region.

A short media briefing will follow the Day 1 session. Should you receive questions prior to the event, these talking points have been provided for reference. They are available to download here. Feel free to pass any media inquiries forward to Jennifer Walker, VP Marketing & Communications, Quad Cities Chamber at jwalker@quadcitieschamber.com or 563-823-2673.

What is this?

  • A bi-state, two-day working session focused on accelerating progress toward eliminating unsheltered homelessness in the Quad Cities.

  • This is the first step in a longer regional effort to align systems, resources, and leadership.

Who is facilitating?

  • Clutch Consulting Group is facilitating the sessions.

  • Clutch works nationally with regions to help communities move beyond planning into coordination, decision-making, and near-term action around homelessness.

What is the goal of the event?

  • To help the Quad Cities establish a shared regional goal focused on unsheltered homelessness.

  • We’ll lean into what’s working and identify gaps to build momentum toward a coordinated, bi-state approach that leads to measurable change.

Who is involved in the conversation?

  • Community leaders across sectors and state lines, including homelessness service providers, nonprofits, philanthropists, funders, businesses, healthcare leaders, government officials, and local advocates.

Why now?

  • Unsheltered homelessness affects the entire region, and no single organization or jurisdiction can solve it alone.

  • This moment is about saying, collectively, this is not how it’s going to be, and committing to work together across state lines.

Is this a decision-making or funding announcement?

  • No. This is an exploratory and working session, not an announcement of final decisions or commitments.

  • The focus is on alignment, shared understanding, and identifying next steps.

Media questions?

  • Please refer media inquiries to Jennifer Walker, VP Marketing & Communications, Quad Cities Chamber.

  • A press conference will be held at the end of Day 1, where local leaders will share information about our collaboration and goals of the summit, but not the details of any brainstorming or work planning done during the event.
